Possible Causes

Leak from tub seal or hose, Loose pump or heater gasket, Cracked sump hose, Activated float switch in base tray

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply. Do not tip the machine without securing the drum.

  • Check for visible leaks: Look around and under the washer for water. If the base tray is full, the internal float switch will trigger E13.
  • Drain base tray: Carefully tilt the machine slightly backward or to the side (with assistance) to allow water to drain from the base. Place towels to catch spills.
  • Remove panels for inspection: Take off the rear or side panels (model dependent) and inspect all hoses, the sump, pump, and heater seals for signs of leakage or dried detergent tracks.
  • Tighten or replace components: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, and renew any leaking gaskets (pump seal, heater seal, tub-to-pump hose).
  • Test for leaks: With panels still off, run a short fill and drain cycle while observing for drips. Only refit panels once you are sure the leak is resolved.
