Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Stuck float switch, Residual water after previous leak, Cracked tub or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and close the water tap.
- Confirm pump operation: If the drain pump runs as soon as the machine is powered, the base float switch is likely activated by water in the tray.
- Drain the base: Carefully tilt the machine to allow water to escape from the base tray. Use towels to absorb the water.
- Inspect for source of leak: Remove side or rear panels and check all internal components for signs of leakage: tub seams, door seal, dispenser hose, sump hose, pump, and heater.
- Repair leak: Tighten clamps, replace leaking hoses or seals, and ensure the dispenser drawer and housing are not cracked.
- Reset and test: Once dry and repaired, stand the machine upright, wait at least 30 minutes, then plug in and run a short cycle while monitoring for further leaks.
