How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer. Expect water spillage when opening the filter.
- Clean pump filter: Open the pump access flap, drain residual water, and remove the filter. Clean thoroughly and check the pump impeller for trapped objects.
- Inspect sump hose: From underneath or front access, check the large hose from the tub to the pump for blockages (e.g., socks, lint). Remove and flush if necessary.
- Check household drain: Ensure the standpipe or sink trap is not blocked. A slow household drain can cause E18 even if the pump is working.
- Assess pump performance: If the pump is noisy, intermittent, or weak, replace it with a Neff-compatible drain pump.
