Possible Causes

Blocked pressure chamber or hose, Faulty pressure sensor, Sticking water inlet valve, Faulty main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer immediately if water is continuously filling to prevent flooding. Close the water tap.

  • Step 1 – Verify inlet valve closure: With power disconnected and tap closed, remove the top cover. Inspect the water inlet valve. If water continues to flow when the tap is open and the machine is off, the valve is mechanically stuck and must be replaced.
  • Step 2 – Clean pressure chamber and hose: Locate the pressure hose from the tub/air chamber to the pressure sensor. Remove the hose and blow through it; it should be clear. If blocked with detergent residue, clean the hose and the air chamber connection on the tub using hot water and a small brush.
  • Step 3 – Test pressure sensor: With the hose removed, gently blow into the sensor port while measuring output (per Schulthess service manual) or listening for clicks. If no response or if physically damaged, replace the sensor.
  • Step 4 – Inspect wiring and PCB: Check connectors between the pressure sensor and main PCB for corrosion or loose pins. If all components test good but E04 persists, the control board may be misreading the level signal and should be evaluated or replaced by a technician.
