Possible Causes
Partially blocked drain system, Slow drain pump, Faulty pressure sensor not detecting empty tub, Kinked drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and keep towels handy for water spills.
- Step 1 – Clean pump filter: Open the lower service flap and remove the pump filter. Clear all debris and foreign objects. Ensure the pump impeller spins freely.
- Step 2 – Inspect drain hose routing: Verify the drain hose is not kinked or crushed behind the machine. Ensure the hose height and installation follow Schulthess guidelines to prevent siphoning.
- Step 3 – Test drain performance: Run a drain-only or spin program with an empty drum. Time how long it takes to empty. If water remains or draining is very slow, the pump may be weak and require replacement.
- Step 4 – Check pressure sensor and hose: Inspect and clean the pressure hose from the tub to the sensor. Any blockage can cause the control to think water is still present, preventing spin. Replace the sensor if it does not respond correctly to pressure changes.
