Possible Causes
Loose harness between UI and main board, Oxidized connectors, Faulty user interface board, Defective main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel or top cover.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and test. Transient glitches can sometimes clear.
- Step 2 – Check harness: Remove the top cover and front control panel. Locate the multi-core cable between the user interface (display) board and the main PCB. Ensure both ends are fully seated and free of corrosion.
- Step 3 – Inspect boards: Look for signs of moisture, detergent residue, or burnt components on both boards. Clean light residue with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Step 4 – Board substitution: If wiring is intact, the fault is likely on either the UI or main PCB. Replacement typically requires matching part numbers and may need programming; this is best done by an authorized Schulthess technician.
