Possible Causes
Very low water pressure, Partially blocked inlet filters, Faulty inlet valve coil, Faulty flow meter (on models equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close the water tap before hose removal.
- Step 1 – Verify household pressure: Check other taps in the home. If pressure is low everywhere, resolve plumbing issues first.
- Step 2 – Clean filters and hose: Remove the inlet hose and clean the mesh filters in both the hose and valve. Flush the hose.
- Step 3 – Test valve coils: With power off and top cover removed, measure resistance of each inlet valve coil. Replace the valve if any coil is open or significantly out of spec.
- Step 4 – Flow meter (if present): Some Schulthess models use a flow sensor integrated with the valve. Check its connector and wiring. If the machine fills but still shows E17, the flow meter may not be sending pulses and should be replaced.
