Possible Causes
Clogged UniMac drain pump filter, Obstructed drain hose, Foreign object in drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when opening the pump filter or hoses.
- Check drain hose: Inspect the external drain hose for kinks, clogs, or freezing (in cold environments). Ensure the standpipe or floor drain is not blocked.
- Clean pump filter: Access the drain pump clean-out (often behind a lower front panel). Place a shallow pan and towels under the filter cap. Slowly open the cap to let water drain, then remove and clean the filter of lint, coins, and debris.
- Inspect pump impeller: With the filter removed, look into the pump housing. Remove any foreign objects and verify the impeller spins freely.
- Test pump motor: With power off, access the pump wiring. Check for secure connections and test the pump coil resistance. If open or if the pump hums but does not turn when powered, replace the drain pump assembly.
- Re-test: Reassemble, restore power, and run a drain/spin cycle. If E03 returns with a clear pump and hose, the control board or pressure switch may be misreading water level and should be professionally checked.
