Possible Causes
Blocked air dome or pressure hose, Loose pressure hose connection at tub or switch, Defective water level pressure switch, Faulty control board water level circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the pressure switch or internal hoses.
- Inspect pressure hose: Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the tub air dome to the pressure switch on UniMac washers. Check for kinks, cracks, or disconnections. Reattach securely if loose.
- Clear air dome: Remove the hose from the tub connection and blow gently through it to ensure it is clear. If blocked, clean the air dome port on the tub of detergent residue or lint.
- Check for water in hose: Any water trapped in the pressure hose can cause false readings. Shake out water and reinstall.
- Test pressure switch: With a multimeter, test continuity across the switch terminals while applying gentle air pressure to the port (use a short piece of hose and blow lightly). If the switch does not change state as specified, replace the pressure switch.
- Control board: If the hose and switch are good but E04 persists, the main control may be misinterpreting the signal and should be evaluated by a technician.
