Possible Causes

Water leak into base pan triggering float switch, Loose tub-to-pump hose clamp, Cracked outer tub on UniMac washer, Leaking water inlet or dispenser hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply immediately if a leak is suspected.

  • Inspect base pan: Remove the lower front or rear panel and check for water in the base. Many UniMac models use a float or sensor in the base to detect leaks. Dry all water and locate the source.
  • Check hoses and clamps: Examine the tub-to-pump hose, pump outlet hose, and inlet hoses for drips, cracks, or loose clamps. Tighten clamps or replace hoses as needed.
  • Inspect dispenser and vent hoses: Look for leaks around the dispenser housing and any vent hoses leading to the tub.
  • Outer tub inspection: Use a flashlight to look for cracks or worn spots on the plastic outer tub, especially around seams and mounting points. A cracked tub typically requires replacement of the outer tub assembly.
  • Reset leak sensor: Once the leak is repaired and the base is completely dry, restore power and test. If E13 persists, the leak sensor or float switch may be stuck or faulty and should be replaced.
