Possible Causes
Defective Start button on UniMac user interface, Door not locked or door switch open, Control in pause or error state, Loose harness between interface and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control console.
- Check door lock: Ensure the door is fully closed and locked. If the lock indicator is not on, troubleshoot the door lock system first.
- Clear pause or error: Press Pause/Cancel (if equipped) and then try Start again. Power cycle the machine by unplugging for 1–2 minutes.
- Test Start button: Enter service or key test mode (per UniMac manual) to verify the Start key registers. If not, the user interface board or membrane may be faulty and require replacement.
- Inspect wiring: Reseat the harness between the user interface and main control board.
