Possible Causes

Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt wiring at heater terminals, Faulty power electronics / relay on main control module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the machine to cool before accessing the heater area. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

  • 1. Confirm symptom: Run a 60°C cotton program and check mid-cycle if the door glass becomes warm. If not, and E05 appears, proceed with checks.
  • 2. Access heater: On many V-ZUG washers, the heater is mounted at the bottom of the tub, accessible from the rear panel. Remove the rear panel to expose the heater terminals.
  • 3. Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors or loose wires at the heater and NTC sensor. Reseat or replace damaged connectors.
  • 4. Test heating element: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure across the heater terminals. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
  • 5. Test NTC sensor: Measure the resistance of the NTC sensor (often mounted in the heater bracket). At room temperature it should be in the tens of kΩ and change when warmed. Infinite or zero resistance indicates failure.
  • 6. Replace faulty parts: If the heater is open or shorted, replace the V-ZUG heating element. If the NTC is faulty, replace the V-ZUG NTC temperature sensor.
  • 7. Technician involvement: If both heater and NTC test good, the issue may be with the power electronics (heater relay or triac) on the main control module, which should be serviced by an authorized technician.
