Possible Causes

Leak from door seal, Leak from tub-to-pump hose, Leak from inlet valve or detergent drawer, Activated base tray float switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and close the water tap immediately. Do not continue using the washer until the leak source is identified and repaired.

  • 1. Inspect visible leaks: Check around the door seal, detergent drawer, and rear hose connections for signs of water.
  • 2. Check base tray: Carefully tilt the washer slightly backward and observe if water drains from the base. Many V-ZUG models have a float switch in the base tray that triggers E08 when water is present.
  • 3. Dry the base: If water is in the base, remove the rear or side panel and gently soak up water with towels or a sponge. Allow the area to dry completely.
  • 4. Identify leak source: Run a short fill cycle while observing with panels removed (use extreme caution; avoid contact with live parts). Look for drips from the door seal, tub hoses, pump, or inlet assembly.
  • 5. Replace leaking components: If the door gasket is torn, replace the V-ZUG door seal. If a hose is cracked or loose, replace or refit the tub-to-pump hose or inlet hose. Tighten hose clamps as needed.
  • 6. Check AquaStop hose: If equipped, inspect the AquaStop inlet hose for leaks or activation. Replace the V-ZUG AquaStop hose assembly if it has tripped or is leaking.
  • 7. Technician assistance: For leaks from the outer tub, heater gasket, or internal manifolds, contact a professional technician, as these repairs can be complex.
