How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and prepare for water spillage when opening the drain filter.
- 1. Clean pump filter: Open the service flap, drain residual water, and remove the pump filter. Thoroughly clean lint and debris.
- 2. Check sump hose: With the filter removed, feel into the sump hose leading from the tub for socks or other obstructions. Remove any foreign objects.
- 3. Inspect drain hose routing: Ensure the drain hose height and routing follow V-ZUG installation guidelines. Avoid tight bends and ensure the end is not submerged in standing water.
- 4. Test pump: Run a drain program and listen for the pump. If it is noisy, weak, or intermittent, the pump may be failing.
- 5. Replace pump if needed: Access the pump from the rear or bottom, disconnect wiring and hoses, and install a new V-ZUG drain pump assembly.
- 6. Technician help: If E20 persists with a new pump and clear hoses, the control module or wiring may be at fault and should be checked professionally.
