Possible Causes

Frequent low-temperature washes, Detergent overdosing, Poor ventilation of drum, Residual standing water in seal folds

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use appropriate cleaning agents and avoid mixing chemicals (e.g. bleach and acids).

  • 1. Clean door seal: Wipe the seal folds with a cloth soaked in a mild bleach solution or specialized washing machine cleaner. Remove visible mold and debris.
  • 2. Run maintenance wash: Run a 90°C maintenance program with no laundry, using a V-ZUG-approved machine cleaner or a small amount of bleach.
  • 3. Improve ventilation: After each wash, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to allow drying.
  • 4. Adjust detergent use: Use the correct amount of HE detergent and avoid constant low-temperature eco cycles; occasionally run hotter washes.
  • 5. Replace seal if needed: If the seal is heavily degraded or cannot be cleaned, replace the V-ZUG door gasket.
