Possible Causes

Faulty primary NTC sensor, Loose NTC clip on heat exchanger, Damaged sensor wiring, Corroded connector on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the appliance.

  • Locate primary NTC: This sensor is usually attached directly to the primary heat exchanger or primary flow pipe.
  • Check mechanical fixing: Ensure the NTC is firmly clipped or inserted into its pocket and has good thermal contact. Re-seat or replace the clip if loose.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the cable back to the PCB, checking for insulation damage or signs of overheating. Reseat the connector.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with manufacturer data. Replace if out of tolerance.
  • PCB check: If a known-good sensor still gives E06, the PCB sensor input may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
