Possible Causes
Supply voltage out of range, loose terminal block connections, internal power supply fault on control PCB.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Work only with the power off. Mains voltage is lethal.
Steps:
- Check supply voltage: Have a qualified person measure the voltage at the heater input terminals. Ensure it matches the rating on the Eldom nameplate (e.g., 230V AC).
- Inspect terminal block: Remove the cover over the mains connection. Tighten all screws on the terminal block and check for discoloration or melting.
- Look for burnt components: On the control PCB, inspect the low-voltage power supply section (transformer or SMPS) for burned parts or bulging capacitors.
- Reset and test: After tightening connections, restore power and see if E08 clears. Persistent E08 with correct voltage usually indicates a defective control PCB.
- Replace PCB: If the internal power supply is defective, replace the control PCB/power module with an Eldom-approved part.
