Possible Causes
Disconnected or damaged salt level sensor, heavy salt bridging around sensor, corroded sensor contacts, failed sensor input on control board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working near any wiring. Avoid reaching into the brine tank with power connected if an electronic sensor is present.
- Locate sensor: Identify the salt or brine level sensor in the brine tank (often mounted on the side or in the brine well).
- Check wiring: Inspect the cable from the sensor to the control head for cuts, abrasions, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug on the control board.
- Clear salt bridge: If salt has formed a hard crust around the sensor, carefully break up the bridge with a broom handle or plastic tool. Do not use metal tools that could damage the tank.
- Clean sensor: Wipe the sensor surfaces with a damp cloth to remove salt residue. Allow to dry before reconnecting.
- Replace sensor if needed: If E11 persists, replace the Aqua Dial salt level sensor with the correct part for your model.
