Possible Causes
Disconnected or damaged salt level probe, Heavy salt crust on sensor, Corroded sensor terminals, Faulty sensor input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Open the brine tank carefully.
- Locate the salt level sensor: Many Aquabion models use a salt level float or conductivity probe mounted in the brine well. Gently lift it out and inspect for heavy salt buildup or corrosion.
- Clean the sensor: Rinse the sensor in warm water to dissolve salt. For stubborn deposits, soak in a 1:1 vinegar-water solution for 15–20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Check wiring: Ensure the sensor harness is intact and firmly connected to the controller. Repair any damaged wires.
- Test operation: Reinstall the sensor at the correct height in the brine well. Restore power and clear the error by following the Aquabion manual. If E08 persists, replace the salt level sensor assembly. If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be defective.
Warning: Do not bend or force the sensor rod; damage can cause false readings and overfilling or underfilling of brine.
