Regeneration Not Initiating
The Clack water softener does not start regeneration at the programmed time.

Possible Causes
Incorrect time of day setting, Regeneration mode set to “off” or demand-only with no usage, Power interruptions resetting the clock, Faulty control board timer circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks.
Steps:
- Verify time of day: Check that the controller’s time matches the actual time and that AM/PM is correct. Adjust if necessary.
- Check regeneration mode: Confirm that the system is set to the desired mode (time clock, metered immediate, or metered delayed). If set to demand-only and water usage is low, regeneration may not occur frequently.
- Review day override: Ensure that a maximum day override is programmed so the unit regenerates at least every set number of days, even with low usage.
- Power stability: If frequent outages occur, consider using a small UPS or surge protector to maintain clock settings.
- Manual test: Initiate a manual regeneration. If the valve will not start a cycle at all, the control board or keypad may be faulty and require replacement.
Note: After any programming change, observe the next scheduled regeneration to confirm proper operation.
