WaterBoss softener emits a musty or moldy odor from the brine cabinet.

Safety: Wear gloves and a mask when cleaning mold. Ensure good ventilation.

• Empty brine cabinet: Place the unit in bypass. Remove salt and standing water from the brine cabinet using a scoop and wet/dry vacuum.
• Clean surfaces: Scrub the inside of the cabinet with a solution of water and a small amount of household bleach. Rinse thoroughly.
• Inspect for leaks: Ensure the brine valve is not overfilling the tank and that the float is correctly adjusted.
• Refill with clean salt: Use fresh, high-purity salt and keep the lid closed to reduce humidity.
