Possible Causes

Clogged defrost drain, Cracked drain tube, Excessive door condensation due to poor seal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the cooler and mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.

Steps:

  • Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole or channel at the rear bottom where defrost water should exit.
  • Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or plastic zip tie to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Flush with a small amount of warm water using a turkey baster.
  • Check drain tube and pan: From the rear, inspect the drain tube leading to the evaporator pan above the compressor. Ensure it is connected and not cracked.
  • Inspect door gasket: A poor seal can cause excess condensation. Replace the door gasket if it is torn or warped.
