Possible Causes
Open or shorted cabinet NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Corroded sensor connector on main control PCB, Failed main control PCB temperature input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Locate the cabinet sensor: On most Della Marta wine coolers, the cabinet NTC sensor is a small probe behind a vent or cover on the rear interior wall or side wall of the compartment.
- Visual inspection: Remove the interior shelf near the sensor. Check that the sensor tip is intact and not broken or pulled out. Inspect the thin sensor wires for cuts or pinches.
- Connector check: Access the rear of the unit and remove the lower back panel. Trace the sensor wires to the main control PCB. Unplug and replug the sensor connector to clear oxidation.
- Resistance test (optional): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the sensor leads with a multimeter. Typical NTC sensors read 5–50 kΩ depending on temperature. A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace sensor: If faulty, install a new cabinet NTC temperature sensor designed for Della Marta wine coolers. Route the new sensor wiring along the original path and secure it away from the evaporator fan.
