Possible Causes

Clogged defrost drain, disconnected drain tube, cracked drain pan, excessive condensation from door gasket leak

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels. Mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.

Steps:

  • Locate drain: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole at the rear or bottom near the evaporator area.
  • Clear blockage: Use a pipe cleaner or flexible brush to clear debris from the drain hole. Flush with warm water using a turkey baster or syringe.
  • Check drain tube and pan: From the rear, inspect the drain tube leading to the drain pan above the compressor. Ensure it is connected and not cracked. Replace if damaged.
  • Inspect gasket: Fix any door gasket leaks that may be causing excessive condensation.
  • Re-test: After clearing and reassembling, run the unit and check for further leaks over the next 24 hours.
