Possible Causes
Door left open for too long, Blocked ventilation at the rear or sides, Defective evaporator fan, Low refrigerant charge or a sealed system leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the appliance is on a dedicated circuit and away from heat sources. Unplug the unit before internal inspection.
- Check door and gasket: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket seals completely around the frame. Adjust hinges if needed.
- Verify ventilation: Confirm that the rear and sides have the clearance specified in the Grundig manual and that the vents are not blocked.
- Inspect internal fan: Confirm that the evaporator fan runs when the compressor is operating. If it does not, refer to fan motor diagnostics (E5).
- Monitor temperature: Place an accurate thermometer inside and allow 12–24 hours. If the temperature remains high despite compressor and fan operation, there may be a sealed system issue.
- Clean condenser: Remove dust from the condenser coil to improve heat rejection.
- Call a technician for sealed system issues: If cooling remains poor after these steps, a professional must check the refrigerant charge and system integrity.
