Display shows E8 and the compressor does not run; the unit remains warm.

Safety: Disconnect mains power. Work on the sealed system and inverter should only be performed by qualified personnel.

• Check power to unit: Confirm the outlet supplies the correct voltage and the power cord is intact.
• Inspect wiring: Remove the rear panel and verify that all connectors between the main PCB, inverter (if present), and compressor are secure.
• Listen for relay click: When powered and calling for cooling, you should hear a relay click on the PCB. No click may indicate a failed relay or a defective control board.
• Measure compressor windings: With power off and wires removed from the compressor, measure resistance between terminals. Compare the readings to Grundig specifications. A short to ground or an open winding indicates a defective compressor.
• Replace control components: If the compressor tests as functional, replace the Grundig main control board or inverter module as appropriate.
• Call a technician for compressor replacement: If the compressor is electrically defective, a sealed system technician must replace and recharge the system.
