Possible Causes

Stuck touch keys on the control panel, Moisture ingress behind the display, Damaged control PCB membrane, Loose ribbon cable between the UI board and the main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the control panel or display assembly.

  • Dry the control area: If condensation or liquid has come into contact with the panel, allow it to dry completely. Do not use heat guns for drying.
  • Inspect control panel: Remove the front control panel carefully. Check for cracks, corrosion, or moisture on the PCB.
  • Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat cable between the user interface (UI) board and the main PCB is fully seated and undamaged.
  • Clean contacts: Use isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush to clean any residue from the control PCB.
  • Test buttons: With the panel reconnected and power restored, test each key. If some keys remain unresponsive or the E9 error persists, the panel is likely defective.
  • Replace UI board: Install a new Grundig control panel / user interface board and reassemble the fascia.
