Possible Causes

Door not fully closed, Misaligned or damaged door gasket, Faulty magnetic reed door switch, Broken door switch wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

dE indicates that the control unit believes the door is open.

  • Check physical closure: Ensure no shelves or bottles are blocking the door. Gently push the door closed and verify that it latches.
  • Inspect the gasket: Look for gaps, tears, or warped sections of the Hisense door gasket. Warm the gasket with a hair dryer (on low setting) and reshape it if slightly warped.
  • Locate the door switch: Many Hisense wine coolers use a magnetic reed switch hidden in the cabinet frame and a magnet in the door. Check that the magnet is still present and properly aligned.
  • Test the switch: With power off, access the switch area (often behind a small panel) and test continuity while placing a magnet near it. Replace the switch if it does not change its state.
  • Repair wiring: Inspect the harness from the switch to the main PCB for breaks, especially near the top corners of the cabinet.

After correcting the issue, close the door firmly and wait a few minutes for the dE code to clear.
