Possible Causes

Moisture intrusion into control panel, Worn touchpad contacts, Loose ribbon cable to the main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.

  • Clean the panel surface: Wipe the control area with a slightly damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to seep into the edges of the panel.
  • Reset power: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes and then plug it back in to reset the control electronics.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and check the ribbon cable connection to both the panel and the main control board. Reseat the cable securely.
  • Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage on the control board. If present, replace the control panel / user interface board.
  • Test buttons: After reassembly, test each button. If some buttons remain unresponsive, the touchpad membrane is likely worn, and the entire panel should be replaced.
