Possible Causes
Faulty magnetic or mechanical door switch, Stuck light relay on the control board, Failed LED light strip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Unplug the cooler before testing the switch or light.
- Identify door switch type: Some hOmeLabs models use a mechanical plunger switch in the frame; others use a magnetic reed switch hidden in the cabinet.
- Test mechanical switch: Press the plunger by hand and observe if the light turns on/off (with power connected). If it feels loose or operates intermittently, replace the door switch.
- Test magnetic switch: Move a small magnet along the door frame where the switch is located and observe if the light responds. If not, the reed switch might be faulty.
- Check wiring: Inspect the switch wiring harness for damage or loose connectors at the main control board.
- LED strip test: If the switch functions but the light never illuminates, the LED strip might be faulty. Replace the LED light strip as needed.
- Control board issue: If the light remains on regardless of the switch position, the light control circuit on the main control board might be stuck. Replace the main control board.
