Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between control panel and main PCB, Faulty touch keypad or display board, Moisture ingress into control panel, Main PCB communication driver failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains before opening the control panel.

Steps:

  • 1. Inspect environment: Ensure the cooler is not installed in a very humid area where condensation can enter the control panel.
  • 2. Remove control panel: Carefully unclip or unscrew the front control panel. Support it so as not to strain the ribbon cable.
  • 3. Check ribbon cable: Reseat the flat ribbon cable or multi-pin connector between the display/keypad board and the main control board. Look for corrosion or bent pins.
  • 4. Dry moisture: If you see condensation or moisture, gently dry the area with a lint-free cloth. Allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
  • 5. Visual inspection: Look for burn marks or cracked solder joints on the display board. If damaged, replace the La Sommeliere control panel / display PCB.
  • 6. Reassemble and test: Refit the panel, restore power, and test all buttons and display functions. Confirm that E8 no longer appears.

Note: If the error persists and all connections are sound, the main control board may require replacement by a professional.
