Possible Causes
Door switch stuck in 'open' position, Misaligned door not activating the switch, Shorted switch wiring, Control board not recognizing the door as closed.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting or replacing the door switch.
- Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and fully. Adjust the leveling feet so the cabinet is not twisted, which can misalign the door.
- Inspect switch: Locate the door switch or magnetic sensor. Press a mechanical switch by hand to see if the light goes off. For magnetic sensors, hold a magnet over the sensor area.
- Replace faulty switch: If the light does not respond to manual operation, replace the door switch or magnet with a Montpellier-compatible part.
- Temporary workaround: Until repaired, you may unplug the unit when not in use or remove the light connector to prevent heating, but this is not a long-term solution.
- Control board: If the switch works electrically but the light remains on, the main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
