Possible Causes
NTC sensor out of calibration, Sensor not properly attached to the evaporator or cabinet wall, Stuck compressor relay on main PCB, Control board logic fault.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside and compare it to the set and displayed temperatures. A significant discrepancy indicates a control issue.
- Inspect sensor placement: Remove the interior rear panel and confirm the cabinet or evaporator sensor is correctly clipped to the surface it is meant to measure, not hanging in free air or touching the evaporator directly if not designed to.
- Replace suspect sensor: If the sensor is misreading, install a new Montpellier-compatible NTC sensor in the correct location.
- Check compressor cycling: Observe whether the compressor ever turns off. If it runs constantly even when the cabinet is very cold, the relay on the main PCB may be stuck closed. In that case, the main control board should be replaced by a technician.
