Possible Causes

Failed upper zone NTC sensor, Loose or damaged sensor harness between the upper compartment and PCB, Oxidized connector at the main control PCB, Faulty main control PCB sensor channel.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the wine cooler from power before opening any panels.

  • Confirm zone: Verify that E2 corresponds to the upper zone in your specific mQuvée model (check the user manual or label on the rear panel).
  • Access upper sensor: Remove the upper shelves. Look for a small probe or plastic cover on the rear or side wall of the upper compartment. Gently remove any cover to expose the sensor.
  • Visual inspection: Check that the sensor tip is intact and not broken or pulled out of its mounting. Ensure the cable is not cut or pinched by the shelves.
  • Rear access: Remove the rear service panel and trace the upper zone sensor wires to the main control PCB. Inspect for damage and secure any loose wiring with cable ties.
  • Reconnect: Unplug and reconnect the sensor plug on the PCB to ensure a solid connection.
  • Test and replace: If you can measure resistance, compare the upper sensor reading to the lower sensor (if they are of identical type). A large discrepancy or an open/short reading indicates a bad sensor. Replace with a compatible mQuvée upper zone NTC sensor.
  • Persistent E2: If a known-good sensor still triggers E2, the main control PCB likely needs replacement. This should generally be handled by a service technician.
