Possible Causes
Clogged evaporator drain hole, Disconnected drain tube, Cracked drain pan, Excessive frost due to door seal leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing panels. Use towels to absorb water and prevent slipping.
Steps to stop water leaks:
- 1. Locate drain system: Remove interior shelves and the rear panel to find the evaporator drain trough and hole.
- 2. Clear blockage: Use a soft brush, pipe cleaner, or compressed air to clear debris from the drain hole and tube.
- 3. Check drain tube routing: At the rear bottom, ensure the drain tube leads into the external drain pan above the compressor and is not kinked or disconnected.
- 4. Inspect drain pan: Look for cracks or overflow. Replace the "drain pan" if damaged.
- 5. Verify door seal: A poor seal can cause excess frost and defrost water. Replace the gasket if needed.
