Step 1 – Access evaporator area

• Remove shelves and the interior rear panel to expose the evaporator coil.
• Locate the evaporator sensor clipped to the tubing or mounted near the coil.

Step 2 – Inspect sensor and mounting

• Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the evaporator as designed.
• Check the sensor body and wiring for cracks, corrosion, or cuts.

Step 3 – Reseat or replace sensor

• Reseat the sensor connector at both ends if accessible.
• If the sensor appears damaged or EC23 persists, replace the evaporator thermistor with the correct Sub‑Zero part.

Step 4 – Monitor operation

• Reassemble panels, restore power, and allow the unit to run for several hours.
• Verify that frost forms evenly on the evaporator and that EC23 does not return.

Note: If the error persists with a new sensor, the main control board may be at fault and should be evaluated by a professional.
