Possible Causes

Refrigerant equalizing in the capillary tube and evaporator, Expansion and contraction of copper lines, Mounting clips transmitting noise to the cabinet.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No repair is usually required; do not attempt to open the sealed system.

Steps:

  • Identify if normal: Light gurgling or hissing for a few minutes after the compressor stops is typically normal for Transtherm sealed systems.
  • Reduce transmission: Ensure refrigerant lines are not touching the cabinet walls directly. If accessible, gently reposition or pad lines with foam to reduce noise transmission.
  • Secure clips: Tighten any loose line clamps or brackets.

Note: Only if noise is extremely loud or accompanied by loss of cooling should a sealed-system technician be called.
