Possible Causes

Dirty pre-motor and HEPA filters, Dust buildup in the cyclone, Storing the vacuum with a full dust cup, Moisture exposure in the dust container.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning filters.

  • Step 1 – Empty dust cup: Completely empty and wipe the dust cup with a dry cloth.
  • Step 2 – Clean or replace filters: Remove pre-motor and HEPA filters. Tap off dust. If washable, rinse with cold water and allow to dry fully for 24 hours. Replace filters if the odor persists.
  • Step 3 – Clean cyclone: Brush dust from cyclone cones and mesh.
  • Step 4 – Air out vacuum: Leave the vacuum (without the battery) in a dry, ventilated area for several hours.
  • Step 5 – Prevent recurrence: Empty the dust cup after each use and avoid vacuuming damp materials.
