Possible Causes

Blocked pressure chamber, clogged pressure hose, faulty pressure switch, stuck water inlet valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and water. Be prepared for water spillage if the machine is overfilled.

  • Manually drain excess water: Remove the lower basket and use a container or sponge to bail out water from the sump until it is below the filter level.
  • Clean pressure chamber and hose: Access the left or right side panel (depending on the model). Locate the small plastic pressure chamber and the thin rubber hose leading to the pressure switch. Remove the hose and blow through it to clear blockages. Rinse the chamber with hot water to remove grease and detergent residue.
  • Inspect pressure switch: The pressure switch is a round device with electrical connectors. Check for corrosion or water ingress. If you gently blow into the hose port, you should hear clicks; if not, it may be faulty.
  • Check inlet valve for sticking: With power off, inspect the water inlet valve. If water continues to enter even when the machine is off, the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the hose and panels, restore power and water, and run a short cycle while monitoring the fill level. If E04 persists, replace the pressure switch.
