Possible Causes

Blocked lint filter, Clogged internal lint duct, Blocked external vent, Failed exhaust fan (heat pump models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before cleaning internal ducts. Wear a dust mask if sensitive to lint.

  • Clean the lint filter: Remove the lint filter and thoroughly clean it with your fingers or a soft brush. Wash with warm water and mild detergent if coated with fabric softener residue; dry completely before reinstalling.
  • Inspect the exhaust hose: Pull the dryer away from the wall. Disconnect the exhaust hose and check for lint clogs, crushed sections, or kinks. Clean or replace as needed.
  • Check the wall vent: Go outside and inspect the vent hood. Remove any lint buildup, nests, or obstructions. Ensure the flap opens freely.
  • Clean internal ducts: Remove the rear panel and carefully vacuum lint from the blower housing and internal ducts. Do not damage temperature sensors or wiring.
  • Verify fan operation (heat pump models): Ensure the circulation fan spins freely and is not obstructed. If the fan motor is noisy, seized, or not running, it may need replacement.
  • After cleaning, reconnect everything, restore power, and run a test cycle. If E06 reappears quickly, a faulty airflow sensor or main PCB may be involved and should be checked by a technician.
