Possible Causes
Defective touch control PCB, Moisture on control panel, Damaged ribbon cable, Stuck physical button
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the panel has been exposed to steam or cleaning liquids, wipe it dry and allow several hours for internal moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect for stuck buttons: Gently press each button to ensure it moves freely and returns. Clean around buttons with a slightly damp cloth (power off).
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the UI and main PCB. Inspect for cracks or corrosion.
- If E16 persists, the touch control PCB may be faulty and require replacement. This is typically a moderate repair but should be done carefully to avoid damaging the fascia.
