Grease or smoke residue under the keypad overlay, Worn conductive pads, Cracked controller PCB at the keypad area.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before removing the controller.
Steps:
- 1. Clean surface: Wipe the keypad surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not soak or allow liquid to run behind the overlay.
- 2. Check for physical damage: Look for cracks, bubbles, or peeling of the keypad overlay. If damaged, the controller or overlay should be replaced.
- 3. Test all buttons: After cleaning, plug in and test each button. If some remain unresponsive, the keypad contacts are likely worn.
- 4. Replace controller: Most Cookshack IQ controllers are replaced as a complete assembly when the keypad fails.
