ALARM
Controller beeps and shows ALARM or flashes time/temperature at the end of the cook cycle.
End-of-cycle or temperature alarm condition
DOOR
Display shows DOOR, and the cook cycle will not start or pauses.
Door switch open or misaligned
ERR1
Controller display shows ERR1 and smoker will not heat
Cookshack temperature probe open circuit
ERR2
Controller display shows ERR2, and the smoker shuts down or will not start.
Cookshack temperature probe short circuit
ERR3
Display shows ERR3, and the smoker stops heating mid-cook.
Over-temperature safety fault from cabinet probe
ERR4
Display shows ERR4, and the smoker will not start a cook cycle.
Meat probe open or missing (if equipped)
ERR5
Display shows ERR5, and the cook cycle aborts when using the meat probe.
Meat probe short circuit or over-temperature
FAN
Display shows FAN or a fan icon flashes, and the smoker will not heat.
Convection or circulation fan failure (fan-equipped models)
HI TEMP
Display shows HI TEMP or flashes maximum temperature and shuts down.
Cabinet over-temperature safety trip
LOW TEMP
Display shows LOW TEMP or never reaches the set temperature; the cook cycle may abort.
Cabinet under-temperature fault
NO HEAT
The display powers up and the timer runs, but the smoker does not heat at all.
Heating circuit failure
NO PWR
The controller display is blank; the smoker appears completely dead.
Main power or controller power supply failure
PROBE
Display alternates between PROBE and temperature; a meat-probe-based cook will not start.
Meat probe not detected or out of range
SENSOR
Display shows SENSOR or a similar message, and the smoker will not heat.
General temperature sensor fault
Symptom
Controller buttons unresponsive or require very hard presses.
Worn or contaminated keypad on the IQ controller.
Symptom
Display segments missing or unreadable numbers on the controller.
Failed LED/LCD display on the IQ controller.

Excessive white smoke or billowing smoke from the vent and door.
Over-smoking or smoldering wood box condition
