Safety first: Only work on the door when the smoker is cool.

• Clean sealing surfaces: Wipe the door frame and gasket to remove grease or debris that might prevent full closure.
• Inspect hinges: Check for bent hinges or loose hinge screws. Tighten them or gently straighten as needed.
• Adjust latch: Loosen the latch striker plate screws and adjust its position so that the latch engages firmly when the door is closed.
• Check gasket fit: Ensure the gasket is fully seated in its channel and not bunched up in the corners. Replace if deformed.
