How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: A welded contactor can leave the output energized unexpectedly. Only qualified personnel should service this fault.
- 1. Isolate power: Turn OFF the upstream breaker and verify that the charger output is de-energized.
- 2. Inspect contactor: Open the charger (if permitted) and visually inspect the contactor for signs of overheating, melting, or mechanical damage.
- 3. Test contactor state: With power off, use a continuity meter across the main contacts. If continuity is present when the contactor should be open, the contacts are welded.
- 4. Replace contactor/module: Replace the defective contactor or the entire power module according to Easee service procedures.
- 5. Investigate root cause: Check for signs of short circuits or overcurrent events in the wiring and vehicle that may have caused the welding.
