Charger emits unusual buzzing, humming, or clicking noises during operation

Safety: New or loud noises can indicate developing faults. Do not ignore burning smells or visible arcing.

• Step 1 – Characterize the noise: Note whether the noise is continuous, only when charging, or only at start/stop.
• Step 2 – Check for vibration: Lightly touch the outside of the enclosure (without opening) to feel for excessive vibration.
• Step 3 – Technician inspection: With power isolated, a technician can open the unit, check that the contactor and any transformers are firmly mounted, and tighten fixings.
• Step 4 – Replace noisy contactor: If the contactor coil is buzzing excessively or chattering, replace it with a Pod Point‑approved part.
• Step 5 – Verify supply quality: Have an electrician check for significant voltage fluctuations that may cause coil chatter.
