Possible Causes
Faulty internal Wi-Fi module, Corrupted network settings, Weak Wi-Fi signal at opener location, Firmware incompatibility
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Network troubleshooting does not involve high voltage, but do not open the opener housing while it is plugged in.
- 1. Check Wi-Fi signal: Use a smartphone at the opener location to verify a strong Wi-Fi signal. If weak, move the router closer or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- 2. Reset network settings: On the Ryobi opener, access the settings menu and select the option to reset or forget Wi-Fi networks. Then follow the Ryobi app instructions to reconnect the opener to your network.
- 3. Update firmware: If the Ryobi app indicates a firmware update is available, apply it and allow the opener to reboot. Firmware updates can resolve E10 communication errors.
- 4. Power cycle: Unplug the opener for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Wait for the Wi-Fi indicator to stabilize and test app control again.
- 5. Hardware failure: If E10 persists after resets and the opener otherwise operates normally from the wall control, the internal Wi-Fi module or logic board may be defective and require replacement.
