Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coil, Weak compressor, High ambient room temperature, Condenser fan running slowly or intermittently
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Hoover ice maker before cleaning or servicing.
- Clean condenser: Use a brush and vacuum to remove dust from the condenser coil. This is one of the most common causes of slow ice production.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the unit has adequate clearance and is not installed in a hot, enclosed space. Avoid placing it near ovens or direct sunlight.
- Check condenser fan speed: Confirm the fan spins at full speed and does not stall. Replace the fan motor if it is noisy, slow, or intermittent.
- Descale evaporator: Mineral buildup on the evaporator plate can insulate it. Run a manufacturer‑approved descaling/cleaning cycle and gently wipe the plate with a soft cloth.
