The display shows E10; the ice bin is empty, but the unit will not start a new cycle and behaves as if the bin is full.

Possible Causes
Blocked ice level sensor by frost or ice, misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, failed bin full switch, or damaged sensor wiring to the control board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before reaching into the bin or removing covers.
Steps:
- Clear the bin: Remove all ice from the storage bin. Check for clumps of ice or frost blocking the sensor window or mechanical bin arm.
- Locate the bin sensor: Depending on the model, this may be an infrared pair (emitter and receiver) on opposite sides of the bin or a mechanical lever/arm that rests on the ice.
- Clean sensor surfaces: Wipe the sensor lenses with a soft, damp cloth. Remove any mineral deposits or frost.
- Check alignment: Ensure the IR emitter and receiver are directly facing each other and not bent out of position. Adjust brackets gently if needed.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the control board and verify connectors are secure and not corroded.
- Test operation: Restore power and observe whether the unit now starts a cycle with an empty bin. If E10 persists, the sensor assembly may need replacement.
Note: Do not tape over or bypass the bin full sensor; this can cause overfilling and damage.
