E1
Northair ice maker will not power on; the display shows E1 shortly after plugging in, and no fans or compressor start.
Main Temperature Sensor (Cabinet Thermistor) Failure
E10
The display shows E10; the ice bin is empty, but the unit will not start a new cycle and behaves as if the bin is full.
Ice Bin Full Sensor / Infrared Beam Fault
E11
The Northair ice maker shows E11; the control panel is responsive but no ice-making functions start.
Keypad / User Interface Communication Fault
E12
The display shows E12; the unit may intermittently shut off or restart during operation.
Power Supply / Voltage Fault
E2
The display shows E2, and the unit stops making ice; the fan may run, but the compressor cycles off quickly.
Evaporator Temperature Sensor Failure
E3
Northair ice maker beeps and shows E3; the ice cycle stops midway, and ice may be too thick or too thin.
Ice Thickness Sensor / Probe Fault
E4
The display shows E4, and the unit stops; ice harvest may not complete, and ice may stick to the evaporator.
Defrost / Harvest Sensor or Hot Gas Valve Control Fault
E5
Northair ice maker shows E5 and stops making ice; water may fill, but no freezing occurs, or the cycle aborts early.
Compressor Overload / High Temperature Protection Fault
E6
The display shows E6; the unit may power on but will not start an ice-making cycle.
Water Level Sensor / Float Switch Fault
E7
Northair ice maker shows E7; the water pump may not run, and no water circulates over the evaporator.
Water Circulation Pump Failure
E8
The display shows E8; the unit may fill with water but then drains immediately or will not hold water in the reservoir.
Drain Pump or Drain Valve Fault
E9
Northair ice maker shows E9; the unit may run briefly then shut down, sometimes with beeping, and no ice is produced.
Low Refrigerant / Refrigeration System Performance Fault (Sensor-Detected)
Symptom
Control panel buttons are unresponsive, or only some buttons work intermittently.
Keypad / Touch Control Failure
Symptom
Evaporator plate ices up excessively with thick frost, and ice harvest becomes unreliable.
Evaporator Overfrost / Defrost-Harvest Imbalance
Symptom
Ice appears cloudy or white instead of clear.
Entrained Air and Mineral Content in Ice
Symptom
Ice has a bad taste or odor, even when freshly made.
Contaminated Water Path / Biofilm or Odor Absorption
Symptom
Ice maker cycles on and off frequently and cannot maintain consistent ice production.
Short Cycling / Overheating or Sensor Misread
Symptom
Ice maker does not fill with water; pump runs dry, and no water reaches the evaporator.
No Water Fill
Symptom
Ice maker overfills with water, causing water to spill into the bin or out of the unit.
Overfill / Water Level Control Failure
Symptom
Ice maker runs continuously and does not stop making ice even when the bin is full.
Bin Full Detection Failure
Symptom
Ice production is much slower than specified, even though the unit eventually fills the bin.
Reduced Ice Production Rate
Symptom
Ice sticks together in large clumps in the bin and does not dispense easily.
Ice Clumping / Poor Bin Drainage or Warm Air Infiltration
Symptom
The Northair ice maker is leaking water onto the countertop or floor during or after operation.
External or Internal Water Leak
Symptom
The Northair ice maker runs but makes no ice at all; the fan and compressor may run, but the evaporator plate does not get cold.
Compressor or Sealed System Failure
Symptom
The Northair ice maker vibrates excessively or 'walks' on the counter during operation.
Excessive Vibration / Poor Leveling
Symptom
The display is dim, flickering, or segments are missing, but the unit still makes ice.
Display Module Degradation
Symptom
The display is on and buttons respond, but the ice maker will not start a cycle when 'Start' is pressed.
Control Logic Lockout / Safety Interlock Not Satisfied
Symptom
The ice maker fills with water but then immediately drains it without making ice.
Improper Drainage / Siphoning
Symptom
The ice maker is making ice, but there is a loud grinding or rattling noise during operation.
Mechanical Noise from Fan, Pump, or Loose Components
Symptom
The ice maker produces ice, but the cubes are very small, hollow, or melt quickly in the bin.
Insufficient Freeze Capacity / Poor Heat Transfer
Symptom
The ice maker will not start at all; there are no lights on the display and no response to buttons.
No Power / Dead Unit
Symptom
The unit emits a burning smell or visible smoke during operation.
Overheating Electrical Component
Symptom
The unit runs, but the interior cabinet or bin feels unusually warm, and ice melts very quickly.
Cabinet Insulation or Fan Airflow Issue
Symptom
The unit trips the household breaker or GFCI outlet when it starts.
Electrical Short or Ground Fault
Symptom
Unit displays lights, but the compressor never starts; only the fan and pump run.
Compressor Start Circuit Failure
Symptom
Water remains in the bin or cabinet area and does not drain properly after ice melts.
Poor Drainage / Standing Water
